Paul Flato: Jeweler to the Stars ReviewWhile serving as a librarian at the Gemological Institute of America back in the early 1990's, I used to check in all the magazines and auction catalogs. Looking through all the auction catalogs was a perk of the job and my eye was drawn to Flato pieces again and again. There was not a lot written about him at that time and the little I gleaned from the short auction catalog bio only made me want to learn more about this mysterious jeweler. This book is informative of his history as well as being a beautiful photographic record of his work. I very rarely run into his pieces as an independent jewelry appraiser but when I do they are instantly recognizable and a pleasure to inspect. The workmanship of the jewelry is invariably precise and the combinations of gemstones and metals is whimsical and fresh. So I'm very glad to be able to add this informative and beautiful book to my working library.Paul Flato: Jeweler to the Stars Overview
