True Story Of Corky, The Blind Seal (True Zoo Stories) ReviewThis is one of my family's favorite stories. It tells the life story of a rescued harbor seal. A main point of the story is that as he ages, Corky develops cataracts and can not be cured. A thoughtful trainer modifies the blind seal's routines and environment so he can continue his productive and happy life as a zoo ambassador.
This is an excellent example of how to respectfully and thoughtfully treat someone who has developed disabilities. The story can be used as a launching point for many varied discussions.
