California: This golden land of promise ReviewAs in my review of "A California Woman's Story", I also purchased this book USED. The seller described the small flaws precisely. I am very happy with the book. Both this book and CA Woman's Story are true keepsakes and an interesting way of describing the history of Orange County Ca. I especially enjoy the artwork on each page, showing the scenes of what Joan Irvine is writing about as she takes us on the historical journey.
Born and raised on the East Coast and now a CA resident for 24 years, this is a interesting way to wrap my mind around CA history. When you grow up in the 1950s and are schooled back East, we were firm in our knowledge of 13 orginal Colonies, etc. --but not so much of CA history, well, at least from my own experience with American history.California: This golden land of promise Overview
