Perfume Guide ReviewThis is simply put delightful! Indeed there are 200 famous perfumes given brief, succinct descriptions. Each entry has two parts: character and story. The story blurbs are often the most interesting. The book itself is divided into sections based upon the class of perfume: floral, fruity, herbaceous, chypre and oriental. Each page is devoted to one fragrance and in addition to the two part descriptions there is a full color, high quality image of the perfume itself in bottle.
This book also includes a very valuable Introduction which treats such fundamentals (often over-looked or ignored by wearers) as scent and sex, mood-altering aromas, self-expression, choosing a perfume, etc., plus a glossary. Susan writes in a very entertaining style. This book of hers should be much better known than it apparently is. I have learned alot from her treatment of such classics, both famous and infamous as: Vent Vert, Fidji, Noa, Antonia's Flowers, Je Reviens, Chanel No. 5, Apres L'Ondee, Sublime, Fracas, and many many more!
Highly recommended to beginners, newcomers and veterans alike!
